More public art is coming to the Tampa Bay area. Beau Stanton, a highly sought after multi-disciplinary artist, recently began work on a mural within Heights Public Market at Armature Works.
The Armature Works structure played a significant role for the city of Tampa as the repair and storage facility for the Tampa Electric street cars. Today, Armature Works has been repurposed while keeping its original integrity, to become the heart of the Heights neighborhood as a mixed-used commercial building. Stanton’s mural will have a deep focus on the history of the 100-year old building, the surrounding neighborhood and will incorporate some of his signature elements, iconic symbols, geared devices and cool color tones. “The mural will cater to the masses and will be a visual representation of Armature’s unique history and the Tampa Heights neighborhood,” says Taryn Bruck, co-owner of Armature Works. “We were drawn to Beau for his element of surprise, international influences and use of eye-popping hues.
